T.J. Prather was born December 20, 1953 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Madeline and Rufus Hugh Prather. He passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years, 3 months and 11 days.
 
T.J. grew up Sayre area and attended school at Delhi, Oklahoma. After Delhi schools closed, he attended Erick high school graduating in 1972. After graduation he helped local farmers and also did mechanic work for the Bobby Reeves Ford dealership. T.J. eventually went to work for Beckham County and remained with them for 34 plus years. T.J. was an avid hunter and enjoyed taking pictures of wildlife.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, 1 brother, Albert Boyd Prather and 3 sisters, Linda Simpson, Carol Boyd and Nyla Speed.
 
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, James Prather and wife, Jerrye, Panhandle, TX, Donnie Prather and wife, Jolene, Delhi, OK, Ann Odom, Erick, OK, R.L. Prather, Sacramento, CA and Mary Jane Prather and husband, Ronald Pete Dunlap, Sayre, OK; several nieces, nephews, his family at District #3 Road Crew and other relatives and friends.
