Janie McBane was born October 2, 1945 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Opal and Walter Earl "Paint" Swaner. She passed away January 10, 2017 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 8 days.
Janie graduated from Sayre High School in 1963 where she was an accomplished basketball player. She was a member of the team who was featured in Jim Keith's "Believe In Me". She was married to James Herschal McBane at Wheeler, TX on January 1, 1963 and they made their home in Sayre, except for a short time when they lived in Oklahoma City. Janie was employed at Brickell's Locker Plant for many years and later went to work at Puckett's Food Store as a Bookkeeper until her retirement. She was very family orientated and loved attending all the sporting events that her children and grandchildren participated in. She had many great adventures traveling with Herschal and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Doyle Ray Swaner, Wesley Earl Swaner, Delbert Grant Swaner.
She is survived by her daughter, Elisha Mikles, Sayre, OK; son, Douglas G. McBane and wife, Brandy, Elk City, OK; 6 grandchildren, Megan House and husband, Micah, Elk City, OK, Jeremy Mikles and Hayley, Sayre, OK, Kyle Jordan McBane, Bridge Creek, OK, Brandon Gene McBane, Plymouth, WI, Samuel Jacob McBane, Elk City, OK, and James Garrett McBane, Elk City, OK; 3 great grandchildren, Lillian and Scout Mikles, McKinley House, Haven Thiessen and Tyson Dickerson, 2 sisters, Phylena Parker and husband, Harvey, Elk City, OK, and Kay McManus, Erick, OK, and a host of other relative, and friends.
