Joann Langford was born June 4, 1931 in Wellington, Texas to
Edna Clara and Joseph Herbert Birchfield. She passed away January 4, 2017 at
Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years and 7 months.
Joann grew up in the Dodson community where she attended schools graduated in
1950. After graduation she was married to Billy Joe "B.J." Langford at
Wellington, Texas on January 1, 1949. They lived in Wellington, Texas before
moving to Fritch, Texas and later moved to Elk City, Oklahoma in 1979 to make
their home. Joann worked as a secretary for the First Love Christian Fellowship
school and church until her retirement in 2009. She also enjoyed sewing,
ceramics, candy making and volunteering with hospice. Joann's passion in life
was her work with First Love Christian Fellowship church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 grandson, Bradley Joe
Langford and 1 brother-in-law, Billy Joe Patterson.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Susan Hubbart and husband, Darrell, Elk City,
OK, Sandra Creecy and husband, Dale, San Angelo, TX; son, Kevin Langford, Elk
City, OK; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren,
1 sister, Mary Nell Patterson, Wellington, TX; 2 nieces and 1 nephew, and a host
of other relatives and friends.
