Robert "Bob" Lee Hartin was born September 9, 1934 in Madill,
Oklahoma to Addie and E. I. "Em" Hartin. He passed away May 26, 2014 at Elk
City, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 17 days.
Bob grew up in Madill, Oklahoma graduating from Madill High School in 1953. He
was married to Marguarett Emily (Standridge) Hartin at Madill, Oklahoma on May
16, 1953. After their marriage, they moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma where Bob
furthered his education at Oklahoma State University obtaining
his Doctorate of Veterinarian Medicine (D.V.M.) in 1959. They moved to
Tishomingo, Oklahoma where Bob set up his veterniary practice. In 1962, they
moved to Amarillo, Texas then to Edmond, Oklahoma in 1977 where Robert served as
the State Veterinarian for 17 years. Bob and Marguarett moved to Murfreesboro,
Tennessee in 1994 and then to Sayre in 2000 to retire. Bob enjoyed gardening
with his brother and tending to his cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 4 brothers.
He is survived by his son, Robert Edwin Hartin and wife, Janis, High Springs,
FL; daughter, Teresa Deras and husband, Carlos, Albuquerque, NM; 1
granddaughter, Courtney Hartin, Columbia, MO; 2 sisters, Marie Wright and Emma
Voyles, both of Whitesboro, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Sayre-Doxey
Cemetery. Burial will be at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery under the direction of Rose
