George Van White was born May 25, 1929, in Cement, Oklahoma to Minnie Lee and Fred White and died Monday in Jackson Memorial Hospital at the age of 65. George worked in construction before he went to work for Fuchs and Danner Butcher Shop in Sayre for several years until 1961, when a car accident left him a quadriplegic. He has lived in Sayre, Carter, Wheeler, Texas, Granite, and Cheyenne with is children. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one half-sister, three infant sons, one daughter, Vanetta Higgins, two grandsons, Roger Coots and Allen Higgins. Services were Wednesday at Rose Chapel. J. M. Ashley officiating. Interment in Sayre-Doxey cemetery, Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel. He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Brown and her husband, Bill of Mangum. Carolyn and Wendall Coots of Cheyenne, one son Glendon White and wife Annie, of Mangum. Nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
