Janet Rae Gentry was born March 30, 1942 in Beardstown, Illinois to Doris and Raymond Tandy. She passed away September 26, 2008 at her home in Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years, 5 months and 26 days. She grew up in Breadstown where she married Harold R. Gentry on December 30, 1958. They moved to Wilmington, IL and remained until moving to Cheyenne, Oklahoma in the mid 1980's to make her home. Janet served on the Cheyenne Housing Authority Board of Directors. She loved spending time with her children, visiting her family members and taking care of her dogs. She also enjoyed going to garage sales.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 1 son, Robert E. Gentry.
She is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Tice, Sayre, Oklahoma and three sons, Harold Craig Gentry, Arizona; Brian Keith Gentry, Burns Flat, OK and Darin Christopher Gentry, Cheyenne, OK. 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Joy Jennings, Bartlesville, IL, and Patti Martin, Granite, OK and two brothers, Terry Tandy, Bartlesville, IL, and Tony Tandy, Sayre, OK, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held September 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Chapel officiated by Rev. Jaunice Parkhurst. Burial will be at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
