Stanley Lee Fish was born April 10, 1930 in Butler, Oklahoma to
Arvie L.
and Perry Lee Fish. He passed away September 19, 2000 in the Clinton
Veterans Administration Hospital at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 9
days.
He lived in southwestern Oklahoma with his parents and later began farming
in the Delhi community. He served his country during the Korean War for 18
months where he received the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze-Stars,
UN Service Medal, National Defense Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was married to Geneva Fay Hartzell, at Sayre, Oklahoma on March 2,
1956. They moved to Liberal, Kansas before moving south of Sayre to farm
in 1961. In 1971 they moved into Sayre to make it their home.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister; and
one great grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva, of the home; two daughters, Darlena
Peretto of Hardesty, Oklahoma, and Carol Crosby of Sayre, Oklahoma; one
son, Wesley Fish of Sayre, Oklahoma; one brother, J. W. Fish of Mustang,
Oklahoma; three sisters, Patsy Varnell of Sayre, Oklahoma, and Louwiona
Ford and Roxie Broyles, both of Amarillo, Texas; ten grandchildren; two
great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Thursday, September 21, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sayre
First Baptist Church, officiated by Ray Smart and Tom Cooksey. Burial was
at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose
Chapel Funeral Service.
