Longtime resident of Sayre, Oklahoma Mrs. Melva Dawn Dunlap passed from this life on November 19, 2018 at the age of 62 years, 3 months and 29 days.

Melva was born July 21, 1956 in Elk City, OK to her parents Buster Melvin and Mae Betty (Pinkston) Dodson.  Melva and her husband Larry have lived in Sayre, OK for the past 41 years. She retired from Arkla Gas/Center Point Energy after 34 years of service. Melva has been a longstanding member of the Sayre Chamber of Commerce. After retirement Melva owned and operated Glory “B” Antiques and Collectibles. She and Larry were married January 7, 1977 at First Baptist Church of Cheyenne. Melva was a true animal lover. A special place was held in her heart for her many dachshund dogs she has loved throughout her years. She also enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling. On many occasions you could find Melva at flea markets, garage sales and antique shops gathering priceless treasures. 

Surviving Melva include her husband, Larry Dunlap of the home, 2 brothers; Tubby and wife Barbara Dodson of Nowata, OK, Mark Dodson of Sayre, OK, 3 sisters; Lynda and husband Donnie Walker of Sweetwater, OK, Joan and husband Butch Hagerman of Sweetwater, OK, Karen and husband Jim Barber of Crawford, OK along with a host of other relatives, longtime friends, church family and neighbors. 

Preceding Melva in death are her parents, 2 sisters; Rosa Moran and Angelyn Faye Dodson.
