She was born September 2, 1943 in Sayre, Oklahoma to her parents, Benjamin and Carrie (Miller) West. Sondra was a housekeeper by trade and very proud of her entrepreneurship. She graduated from Sayre High School in 1961. She also graduated and received her bachelor’s degree from Amarillo College in 1984. She enjoyed dancing and keeping up with celebrities and their weddings. Sondra’s greatest love and finest accomplishment were her two sons: James Edward and Christopher Paul Carr.
Although Sondra is no longer with us, her memory will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind which include her 2 sons: James Carr of Stillwater, OK, Christopher and wife Connie Carr of Amarillo, TX, 2 brothers: Jerry West of Sayre, OK, George West of Amarillo, TX, 4 sisters: Paula Aston of Sayre, OK, Brenda McKibben of Sayre, Ok, Frances Rankin of Amarillo, TX, Berta Hillman of Whitedeer, TX, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and longtime friends.
Preceding Sondra in death include her parents, 3 brothers: Lonnie, Ben and Loren West, 1 sister: Donna Firquain.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery with Pastor Jason Kleckner officiating.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 21, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Rose Chapel- Sayre, OK.
