William "Bobbie" Brewer, Jr. was born August 7, 1924 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Cora Olson and William Bert Brewer.

He passed away February 11, 2013 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 4 days.

Bob grew up in the Grimes community and graduated from Sweetwater High School.

He was married to Addie Isabel Bannister at Sayre, Oklahoma on March 17, 1945.

They moved to Amarillo, Texas where he spent the next 40 years as a locomotive engineer for the Rock Island Railway.

From 1952 until 1956 they lived in Blue Island, Illinois where he was the train master.

They returned to Amarillo and after his retirement from the railroad he was a deputy sheriff for the Potter/Randall County Sheriff's Office for five years.

They moved to the family farm in Grimes in 1982 and then to Elk City in 1987 to make their home.

Isabel passed away in 1995.

Bob continued to live in Elk City where he was a member of the Elk City Lions Club and served as President for two years before moving to Sayre to live with his daughter in 2011.

He was a member of My Father's House of Prayer in Sayre.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Bobbie Clyde Brewer; one brother, George Brewer; and one sister, Patsy Biddle.

He is survived by one daughter, Joyce Ann Brewer of Sayre, Oklahoma; one brother, Billy Ross Brewer of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Peggy Risley of Amarillo, Texas; three grandsons, Jackson Whitworth and wife, Christi of Whitewright, Texas; and Wallace Whitworth and wife, Heather of Azel, Texas; and Bobbie Don Brewer of Saginaw, Texas; one granddaughter, Ginger Dawn Brewer and wife, Melissa of Haslett, Texas; five great grandchildren, Savanah Lynn Whitworth, Cole Whitworth, Trinity Marie Whitworth, Taggart Brewer and Brylee Brewer; sister-in-law, Helen Bannister, of Sayre, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were held today, February 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Chapel officiated by Kendell Hamilton.

Burial took place at at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Robinson, Sayre Home Health and Faith Hospice for their care of Bob in his final days.
