Mildred Ellen Neal Bowers was born November 19, 1913 in the New Liberty community, Oklahoma to Nellie Elodia and Charles Holiday Neal and passed away January 10, 1997 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 21 days.

She moved with her parents to the Berlin community where she graduated from High School.

She married William Jefferson Bowers on December 6, 1934 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

They lived in the Berlin community and Erick before moving to Sayre to make their home. Mildred owned and operated Mildred's Beauty Shop for a number of years until her retirement in 1988.

She was a member of the Sayre Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister and 2 brothers.

Survivors include 3 sisters, Ehtel Whitledge, Louise Macklin, both of Sayre and Dolly Fraley of Lubbock, Texas, 1 brother, Dale Neal of Sayre. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 1997 at the Sayre Church of Christ officiated by Kevin Ballard. Interment will be in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery, Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
