Lillie was born May 29, 1943 to her parents Tom Charlie and Dora Bell (Kimble) Hughes in Leedy, Oklahoma.
Lillie was raised in the Sayre/Delhi area most of her life. She met and married Verlin Poindexter October 26, 1961. After divorcing in 1975 they remained lifelong friends. She graduated from Delhi High School in 1963. Lillie worked as a CNA and raised her children to obtain her education as an LPN. She attended and graduated from Burns Flat Practical Nursing School in 1979. She then attended SWOSU, Sayre in 1992 and received her associated degree. Lillie received the Cum Laude award with a grade point average of 3.5% – 3.74%. Lillie was an avid reader. She enjoyed playing money bags at the casinos as well. Cooking and family gatherings were another of her favorite things. Lillie’s greatest love was for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Interment will follow at Delhi Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 8, 2019 and Monday, September 9, 2019 from 9:00 AM ~ 8:00 PM at Rose Chapel, Sayre.
