Obituary:
Lessie "Delores" Reel-Vandine was born April 5, 1933 in
Elk City, Oklahoma to Atona Retha and Willie Sullivan Graham. She passed away
May 29, 2011 at her home in Carter, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 1 month and
24 days.
Delores grew up on the Graham family farm southwest of Retrop. She attended
school at Retrop graduating in 1951. Shortly after high school Delores was
married and began raising her family in the Carter community. In the mid 1980's,
she began working for the Sayre Hospital as a house keeper retiring in 1985. She
enjoyed embroidering, tending her flowers, caring for her cats and spending time
with family and friends. Delores was also a member of the Retrop Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, J.C. Reel and Wes Vandine, 1
brother, Bill Graham, 1 son-in-law, 3 grandsons, 2 great grandchildren, 1 nephew
and 1 great niece.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Jeannie Glancy and husband, Butch, Clinton,
OK, Linda Broussard and husband, Lee, Carter, OK, Jan Allen, Choctaw, OK; 8
grandchildren, Shawnda Callahan, Jauwan Moore, Chet Glancy, Brandon Glancy,
Dustin Allen, Deidra Allen, Jeremy Allen and Jake Allen; 20 great grandchildren;
3 sisters and 1 brother, Betty Carnes and husband, Sam, Patsy Walker, and
husband Doyle, Jim Graham and wife, Treva, Gayla Wood and husband, Clayton and a
host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services held Monday, June 6, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Retrop Baptist Church officiated by Gary Vitosky. Burial at Carter Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
