Leland Clarence Burch, 72, 208 Benton, Sayre, Oklahoma, was born July 18, 1911 to Oliver Tillman and Alice Day Burch at Wetumka, Oklahoma. He passed from this life Friday morning, October 14, 1983 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital, Sayre, Oklahoma.

Mr. Burch was in his late teens when he moved with his parents to western Oklahoma in 1929.

On March 7, 1933 he and Daphna Arietna Hatley were united in marriage in Durham, Oklahoma where they lived beofre moving to New Mexico in 1935. In 1961 they returned to Durham where Mr. Burch served as preacher for the Church of Christ until 1980 when they moved to Carter, Oklahoma, and he preached for the Church of Christ there.

Ill health forced him to retire in 1983. A few weeks before his death they moved to Sayre, Oklahoma.

Those who preceded him in death were his parents; one son; three sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Daphna, of the home; two daughters Betty Ann Mayfield of Sentinel; Brenda Kay Burch of Oklahoma City; four sons Cecil Lewis Burch of Amarillo, Texas; Loy Buane Burch of Blacksburg, Virginia; Paul David Burch of Clovis, New Mexico; Ricky Lee Burch of Elk City, Oklahoma; eighteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters Lela Goddard and Atha Bonander of California; four brothers Troy Burch of Montana; Ray Burch of Alaska; and Bill and Roy Burch of California; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, October 16, 1983 at 3:00 p.m. in Carter Church of Christ with Albert Trent of Erick, Oklahoma and Eddie Beard of Sayre officiating.

Interment followed in the Carter Cemetery with his grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Rose Chapel Funeral Services of Sayre, Oklahoma was in charge of arrangements.
