Stella Sanchez was born December 8, 1935 in Comfort, Texas to Jose Mireles and Antonia (Flores) Mireles. She passed away on March 2, 2021 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 22 days.
Stella resided in Burns Flat and Elk City then eventually settled in Dill City to make her home. She married Manuel Sanchez in Eola, Texas in 1952. Stella was a very strong, independent woman. She always enjoyed listening to country music by Dwight Yoakum. On Sunday, she would listen to Catholic Church mass on the radio. She enjoyed gardening. Her favorite flowers were roses and chrysanthemums. She couldn't wait until fall to see her beautiful flowers bloom. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren's company; she loved them so much. Every night, she would ask the Virgin Mary to take care of her children and great grandchildren; She wouldn't miss a day of prayer. She enjoyed her daughter's company and family gatherings; especially during holidays. She has impacted our lives lovingly. She will be missed dearly by our family; but we all know she is in a better place with the Lord.
Stella is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, John Sanchez and a grandson, Steve Watson.
She is survived by her children, Andrea Anquiano of Merritt, OK, Amelia Jackson of Dill City, OK, Erma Watson of Ardmore, OK, Irene Womble of Clinton, OK and George Sanchez of Dill City, OK. She had 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
"Grandma, thank you for helping me grow up." Priscila Martinez
