Dennis Brady Of Grimes Came To Tragic Death When Pinned Beneath Tons of Dirt
HELP CAME IMMEDIATELY
Death Thought To Have Resulted Instantly When Young Man Was Struck By Volume Of Dirt
Dennis Brady, 24 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Brady of the Grimes community met a tragic death Monday evening, March 10, 1941 when a cave-in from a well piled tons of dirt upon his body. Dennis Brady and a brother were digging a well on the Brady farm when the cave-in occurred. The brother, who was on top, rushed to the house and informed his parents who immediately summoned help and the dirt was soon removed, but the young man was dead. It is believed that death was instant when he was crushed beneath tons of dirt.
Brady is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Brady, three sisters and three brothers. They are Charlie of Wewoka, Oklahoma; Mary of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Leo of Los Angeles, California; Anna of Norman, Oklahoma; Sherman of the home address; and Kathleen of Maryville, Missouri.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. Joseph's church in Cheyenne Friday morning, after which burial will be made in the Elk City cemetery under the direction of Tunnard Funeral home of Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brady of Grimes; three brothers, Charles Brady, Wewoka, Oklahoma; Leo Brady, Los Angeles, California; and Sherman Brady of Grimes; three sisters, Mrs. Ted Harmon, Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Miss Anna Brady, Norman, Oklahoma ;and Kathleen Brady of Maryville, Missouri. In addition to these he leaves a host of other relatives and friends.
He received Solemn Holy Communion and Confirmation on December 13, 1941.
He graduated from the Cheyenne High School with the class of 1932.
Funeral services were conducted in St. Joseph's Church in Cheyenne by Rec. A. Geeraert of Elk City and burial was made in the Calvary Cemetery of Elk City.
The church would not accomodate the large crowd of friends of the Brady family who came to pay last respects to Dennis Brady, his parents and brothers and sisters have the deepest sympathy of this host of friends.
