Veronica "Vickie"" Lynn (Garrett) Babek was born on March 1, 1963 in
Elk City, Oklahoma to Rita (Adams) and Donald Martin Garrett. She
passed away May 20, 2021 in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 58 years,
2 months and 19 days.
Vickie was raised in Elk City and graduated from Merritt High School
in 1981. Vickie married the love of her life, Russell Keith Babek on
November 20, 1992 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Elk City,
Oklahoma.
Vickie was the heart of the family. She loved and cared for everyone
even if they weren't family. Vickie owned and operated Vickie's
Clowntown Daycare from 1992 to 2010. There was never a more giving
person in this world. She was "Jesus" to a lot of people. His light
shined through her. She loved and cared for all her daycare kids
like they were her own and they loved her back.
Vickie was a devoted wife and mother. After she retired she provided
for family with great love and care.
Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, her parents,
Donald and Rita Garrett and her mother and father in law, Laddie and
Roxie Babek.
She is survived by her two children Skyler Babek, Mallory Babek and
her significant other, Cody Fox of the home, brothers, Nickie
Garrett and Tessa Randell of Elk City, OK. Donnie Garrett and wife,
Tammy of Elk City, OK, David Garrett and wife, Delta of Elk City,
OK, Jackie Garrett of Elk CIty, OK, sister, Valerie Logan and
husband, Paul of Cheyenne, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Whinery Funeral Service, Sunday, May 23,
2021 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 9:00
AM to 8:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Matthew
Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 10:30 AM with burial
following at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral
Service.
