He passed away February 23, 2009 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 59 years, 5 months and 27 days.
Mike graduated from Sayre High School in 1968. He later enlisted the US Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he moved to California before returning to Oklahoma where he was married. Three children were born to this union, Kristi, Shannon and John Michael. Mike made his home in Oklahoma and had a long career in the oilfield. He especially enjoyed being a Mudlogger. He was a faithful friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and 2 nieces.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Kristi Sides and fiance', J.D. Hoffman of Sayre, OK; Shannon Selman and husband, Danny, of Schertz, TX; 1 son, John Michael Sides of Carter, OK; 6 grandchildren, Hunter, Austin, Joshlyn, Baylee,Chloe and Alex; his mother, Jean Sebree of Sayre, OK; 3 brothers, Dale Sides and wife, Barbara, of Fairview, OK, Jerry Sides of Mustang, OK, Larry Sides of Sayre, OK; his lifelong friend, Laury Borgman of Carter, OK; a special nephew, Chris Sides of Sayre, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
