Bobby Edsel Nation, 64, died on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 in Houston, TX.

Bobby was born Sept. 30, 1953 a proud fifth-generation Oklahoman. He loved Oklahoma and it is there that he spent the best, happiest times of his life. Even though he spent years in California, his heart was always in Oklahoma.

Bobby was a construction contractor and a cowboy. He built homes and horse barns and replaced countless roofs in California and Oklahoma; he also served as a Mounted Police Officer in Redlands, CA. He fulfilled his life-long dream of purchasing and developing his great-grandfather’s land in Beckham County, and building a life there that he thought might never happen. At Heritage Ranch, he bred, raised and trained the horses that he loved.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his son Seth Franklin Nation in May, 2017.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Field Nation; son Lieutenant Caleb Robert Nation, United States Navy, and daughter-in-law Maria Antonette Nation and grandchildren Graciela Vera and Duke Edsel Nation of Kailua, HI; daughter and son-in-law Brittany Ruth-Nation Murphy and Captain Alan Scott Murphy Jr., United States Marine Corps, of San Diego, CA; grandchildren Tori Danielle and husband Colton Graham Wiley, Jacob Christopher Nation, Taylor Shaye Nation and Megan RaeAnn Nation and daughter-in-law Lori Lynn Nation all of Lawrence, KS; father and mother Franklin Edsel and Orvalene Joy Nation of Sayre, OK; and brother and sister-in-law Gary Lynn and Elizabeth Campbell Nation of Sayre, OK; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends.
