Hansford grew up on the family farm and attended school in Sweetwater, Oklahoma. He worked for Dr. Pepper for a short period of time before beginning his career with Shell Oil Co. in 1951. He continued with Shell until his retirement in 1984. He was married to Almetia Faye (Forrest) Jenkins on November 28, 1953. After their marriage, that spanned 63 years, they made their home in Texas, Wyoming, Michigan, Oklahoma and Buncombe Creek upon Hansford's retirement. Hansford lead an active life as he enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, racing anything with a motor, riding snowmobiles and especially traveling to 45 of the 50 states with his wife, Almetia.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Almetia.
He is survived by his children, Audie Jenkins, Stacie Jenkins, both of Kingston, OK and Kyle Jenkins and wife, Renee, Tuttle, OK; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2019, 1:00 PM at Rose Chapel, Sayre. Burial will be in the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
