Willie was born September 17, 1918 to her parents Henry and Sarah (Fowler) Haas in Oil Trough, AR. Willie grew up in the Mayfield area and has lived in Beckham County for many years. She has been a longtime and dedicated member of First Baptist Church, Sayre. Willie knew only hard work in her younger years. She enjoyed the outdoors, riding horses, feeding goats and working in the yard cutting weeds. Earlier in life, Willie enjoyed swimming in the family pond. She was also a great seamstress. Sewing and quilting brought her great joy. Willie’s favorite saying was” If it’s the truth, it doesn’t hurt”
Willie is survived by her 1 daughter: Betty Kirtley of Sayre, OK, and 1 son: Rolin and wife Annette Hill of Clinton, OK; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, as well as a host of longtime friends and neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Winford Hill; 2 brothers: Raymond Boyd and Wilbert Haas; 2 sisters: Millie Terry and Edna Bell.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Buffalo Cemetery with Pastor Peter Parker officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Rose Chapel, Sayre.
