Darryl Wayne Haas was born April 3rd, 1964 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Jewel Beatrice (Smith) and Wilbert Samuel Haas. He passed away Tuesday, October 4th, 2022 in Amarillo, Texas at the age of 58 years, 6 months and 1 day.
 

Darryl grew up in Sayre, Oklahoma where he attended school. After his schooling, he immediately went to work in the oil field. With the downturn of the oil patch, he found employment driving a truck, ODOT, Leroy Tire Shop, and the Sayre Lumber Yard. When the drilling returned to western Oklahoma, Darryl started working for Chesapeake as a pumper and continued through the acquisition by Four Point. He continued with Four Point until 2020 when he began contract pumping for Maverick. Darryl always enjoyed fishing, being an avid car and hot rod lover, riding motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends.
 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, 4 siblings, Billy Haas, Linda Baker, Jack Haas, and Calvin Haas.


Darryl is survived by 1 brother, Sammy Haas, Elk City, OK; 2 sisters, Bonnie Lowry, Sayre, OK, and Jan Henson and husband, Greg, Sweetwater, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
 

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Carol Varnell, Jim Bland, and the staff of BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Hospital or to the charity of your choice.
 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Sweetwater First Baptist Church officiated by Chris Carlisle.

Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West.
