Ruby Lee Driver was born August 30, 1940 in Grimes, Oklahoma
to Velma
Berniece and Jesse Lee Stewart and died January 2, 1997 in the Great
Plains Regional Medical Center at the age of 56 years.
Ruby graduated from Sayre High School in 1959. She continued her education
and graduated from Sayre Junior College and Southwestern State College
in Weatherford. Ruby later attended Aladdin Beauty College and lived
in Sayre. On February 17, 1967 she married Jack Driver in Hammons, and
they lived in Hammons and Elk City before moving to Sayre in 1972 to
make their home.
She was a member of the Sayre Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her maternal, paternal grandparents and
one Great Grandchild Philip David Riggs.
Services were held 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Sayre Assembly of God Church
officiated by Floyd Courtney and assisted by Damron Atkins. Interment
was in the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral
Service.
Survivors include; her husband, Jack; three sons, Phil Clifton, John
Bohannon, Scott Driver; her parents, Jesse and Velma Stewart; two sisters,
Louise Forrester, Brenda Safranca; one brother, George Stewart all of Sayre;
eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews and
other relatives and friends.
