Lillie Mae Davis was born January 7, 1906 in Tishomingo,
Indian Territory,
and entered into rest April 19, 1990 at the age of 84 years, 3 months and
12 days.
Lillie, the daughter of Levi Douglas and Emma Mandrell, moved with her
parents to the Buffalo Community, southeast of Sweetwater, when she was
3 years old. On June 10, 1923 she married Sam Carnfill Davis at her
parent's home in Buffalo and they lived in Berlin, Meridian, Burns Flat
and Sweetwater before moving to Sayre in 1984 to make their home. She
became a member of the Bible Baptist Church at an early age.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Edna Earl; 3
brothers, 1 sister, 1 granddaughter, Sandra Estes and 1 great grandchild.
She is survived by her husband, Sam, of the home; 4 daughters Lovelle
Dunsworth and her husband, Bill of Cache, Oklahoma, Juanell Estes and
her husband, Ernie, of Santa Maria, California, Dora Jean Woods and her
husband, Jim, of Sayre, Loretta Cutright of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; 1
sister, Ethel Dodd of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren, 11 great
grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service were Saturday April 21, 1990 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sayre
First Baptist Church with Robert Lakey and Tom Cooksey officiating.
Burial was in the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel
Funeral Service of Sayre.
