Cleta Joy Cox was born August 25, 1945 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Trixie Bell (Fuchs) and William Charlie Cox. She passed away November 19, 2018 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 25 days.

Cleta Joy attended grade school at Bulo and later graduated from Sweetwater high school in 1963. She furthered her education at the University of Oklahoma receiving her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and minors in Sociology and Psychology in 1967 and continued at Central State University where she began her graduate work completing all but the practice teaching toward a Masters in Education degree. Cleta Joy entered the United States Navy and served in the nursing corps from 1965 - 1970 where she served at the Naval Hospitals in Portsmouth, VA, Cherry Point, NC, Philadelphia, PA and Oklahoma City, OK. After her discharge, Cleta Joy brought her nursing skills to western Oklahoma where she worked at Sayre Memorial Hospital, Mangum Hospital, Elk City Community Hospital, provided private care for a family friend and held various positions in the home healthcare area. She held numerous certifications and credentials within the nursing field, but her passion was caring for the sick and ailing. Cleta Joy was also civic minded serving on the Sayre Memorial Hospitals quality improvement committee, Sayre Public Library's Friends of the Library Board, county treasurer, held many offices in the local Bulo groups and served on alumni committees for local grade school (Bulo) and high school (Sweetwater) reunions.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Clyde Hall, Jr., Maxwell Gene Hall and EW (Buddy) Hall; 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Hall and Lilly Walker; 1 nephew Gary Don Hall and 1 niece Debra Hall.

She is survived by her brother, C.U. (Cy) Hall and wife, Jill, McKinney, TX numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018, 11:00 AM at Rose Chapel officiated by Kendell Hamilton.

Burial will be in the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
