Dwain McFarland, 85 of Beaver passed away peacefully on July 21, 2020 at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City surrounded by his family. He enjoyed a full and blessed life.
Dwain was born on December 21, 1934 in Guymon, OK and attended Beaver High School. He married the love of his life Peggy Mann on August 8,1951. The couple was married almost 69 years and had two sons Tony and Timmy.
Dwain was a devoted follower of Christ and member of the First Baptist Church in Beaver. He spent many years serving the Beaver community as a member of the Jaycees, Lions Club, and was a Master Mason of the Beaver Masonic Lodge #269. He served his country as a member of the US Army Reserves. He spent time serving on the Beaver City Council as Mayor and the Beaver Pioneer golf course board. He was a founding member of the Beaver Senior Citizens Center, and also served on the Oklahoma State Water Resources Board. He passionately worked the McFarland Ranch and was an entrepreneur throughout his life owning several businesses in the area, Beaver Oil Company, Beaver Well Service, Lady Faire Fashions and Lady Faire Beauty Salon. His greatest joy was enjoying their home in Estes Park, Colorado with family and friends.
Dwain was preceded in death by his mother Irene Murry and Hugh McFarland, mother in-law Anne Boyd, Brother Charles Lynn Stanford, Brother Glenn Davis and daughter in-law Kelly McFarland.
He is survived by wife Peggy, son Tony McFarland and Raychel McDonald, son and daughter in-law Tim and Justine McFarland, Sister Billie Helm and brother in-law Jack. Grandchildren: Ambra Gales and husband David, Katie Mueller, Kelsie Blanton and husband Luke, Kael McFarland, Tanner McFarand, Chase McFarland, Mackenzie McFarland, and Mavryck McFarland. Great grandchildren: Grant and Grace Gales, Austen and Jackson Mueller, Brinklee, Bristen and Krese Blanton, and a host of nieces, nephews and greats.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday July 25, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Beaver, Oklahoma.
A family burial will be at Beaver Pioneer Cemetery. Memorials should be given to the First Baptist Church in Beaver.
