Virginia Baldwin, 92 year old, Gage resident died Monday, June 29, 2020 in Gage. Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the Kiowa Cemetery in Beaver County at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Virginia Mae Baldwin, the oldest daughter of Samuel and Ruby (Armstrong) Carrico. Born August 13, 1927 in Beaver County, Oklahoma, where she attended school in a one room school house. She then went to Laverne High School for one year. In 1943 she moved with her family to Gage, Oklahoma where she met Benton Grace. The couple got married on July 3, 1944. To this union two children were born Doyle Dean Grace and Glenda Louise Grace.
Virginia went to work in Laverne while Doyle was in school. In 1952 they moved to Gage, Virginia worked in the café. When Glenda turned six the family moved to Shattuck, where both of the children attended school. Virginia also worked in many cafes there.
In August 15, 1961 she married Eldon Arthur Baldwin. They lived out by Darrouzett, Texas then moved to the Baldwin Ranch in 1965. They had cattle and raised thoroughbred horses. They sold out in 1975 and moved to Gage. They then took their horses to many race tracks. After three years they sold the horses. Then the couple ran cattle till they retired in 2006.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Harper of Woodward; grandchildren, Londa Roberts and husband J.P. of Oklahoma City; Stephanie Vanhooser and husband Scotty of Woodward; Chris Harper and wife Rachael of Edmond; Jason Grace of Phoenix, Arizona; one great-grandson, Zane Roberts; brother, Archie Carrico of Wyoming; several nieces nephews other family and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Eldon and Doyle Grace, son, Doyle Grace, three sisters, and one brother.
