Wanda passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Durant, OK. Wanda was raised on a farm in the Star Community in Atoka County, Oklahoma. She graduated from Tushka High School. Wanda was a housewife and homemaker, she was always taking care of her family. She would deliver mail by horseback to pay for her $5.00 class ring, when the roads were bad and the mailman couldn't get through. She would meet him at the corner of Boggy Depot and Wards Chapel Road. Wanda later went to California and worked in the shipyards. Later on she worked for Atoka Sewing Factory. She married Robert "Tot" Calvert on Thursday, December 12th, 1946 at Sherman, TX. They celebrated over 78 years of marriage before her passing. Wanda was a member of Wards Chapel Baptist Church where she was very faithful. She enjoyed her Sunday School class and baking cookies and cake for VBS. Wanda was an avid housekeeper and cook. She enjoyed sewing, the family called her a Neiman Marcus seamstress, and crossword puzzles. Her favorite thing was reading the Bible and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, enjoyed mowing and tending her flowers. When Tot worked at Boggy Depot Park, he would let her out at the bridge and she would walk home for exercise. Her body was very strong. Wanda walked up and down the hall everyday with her walker.
