HELEN JEAN "GEORGE" STEVENS



Funeral services for Helen Jean "George" (Woolf) Stevens, Coalgate, formerly of Tushka were held Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Tushka Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Havener and Arvel Hall officiating.

Burial was in Tushka Cemetery under the direction of Atoka Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stevens was born August 15, 1957 in Houston, TX to Tommy Louis Woolf and Thelma Lee Davis Woolf and passed away June 25, 2011 at Mary Hurley Hospital at the age of 53. Helen graduated from Tushka High School with the Class of 1976. She was affiliated with the Tushka Baptist Church and Coalgate Nazarene Church. Helen married Bobby Ray Stevens on June 28, 1980 at Tushka. She had worked as nurse's aide in a nursing home.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Ray Stevens of the home in Coalgate; one daughter, Amanda Bigham and husband , James of Zanesville, OH; her parents, Tommy and Thelma Woolf of Tushka; twin sister, Ellen Settlemire and husband Jerry of Tushka; two brothers, Eugene Woolf and wife Rita of Caney and Robert Woolf and wife, Kim of Tushka; her mother-in-law, Laura Stevens of Coalgate; brother-in-law, Bill Stevens of Coalgate; aunts, Marie White of Copan, Edna Sheffield of Lane, Virginia Spears of Tushka, Sandra Long of Carthridge, TX, and Irene Merritt of Caney; one uncle, Mark Anthony Woolf of Joaquinn, TX; along with several nieces, nephews, great nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Lena Davis; paternal grandparents, Joe Woolf and Elizabeth Baker; uncles, J. W. Woolf, Jess "Bud" Davis, "Papa" Dee White, Bobby Camp, and Bob Merritt, and aunt Florence Camp and her father-in-law, Albert Stevens.

Pallbearers were her nephews, Toby Sheffield, Cody Woolf, Micky Settlemire, Ethan Settlemire, Brock Woolf; also John Keith Selby and Dale Sheffield. Honorary bearers were Robert Woolf, Eugene Woolf, Jerry Settlemire, Russell Prater, Terry Sheffield, Craig Osborne and Scott Baugh.
