Christella lived most of her life in Caney with the latter 27 years being spent in Caddo, OK with her late husband of 59 years Aaron Nix who were members of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Kenefic. Christella worked as a homemaker taking care of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed time with family, Sunday dinners, canning, sewing, crocheting, and gardening. Her life’s passion was pampering her husband and taking care of her babies.
Christella was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons Larry, Leon, and Ronnie Nix; grandson David Nix; twin brothers, Big Sonny, Little Sony Robinson; twin sister, Drucella Golden; and sister Joyce Myers.
She is survived by her son, Lee Nix, and wife Brenda, of Antlers, OK; daughter, Christine Burr of Caddo, OK. Grandchildren; Michael Nix, Sonny Nix and wife April of Trinidad, CA, Michele Dophied of Durant, OK, Angela Stalling and husband Chris of Webb City, Missouri, and great grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 PM on Friday, November 4th, at Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant. Funeral Service is 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 5th at Voca Baptist Church in Caney, OK, with Pastor Victor Cook officiating.
Grave side service will follow at Perkins Cemetery in Caney with Scott Robinson, Richard Nix, Jason Myers, Justin Myers, Justin Paul, and Jonah Dophied serving as pallbearers.
