JAMES D. "CHOCK"  McDOUGAL, AGE 73,  ATOKA RESIDENT.
 
 
BORN:    JANUARY 14, 1922 AT TISHOMINGO, OK TO JOHN AND LONA (ALFORD) McDOUGAL.
 
PASSED AWAY:   TUESDAY, JULY 4, 1995 AT TEXOMA MEDICAL CENTER, DENISON, TX..
AGE:     73 YEARS    5 MONTHS   AND   20  DAYS.
 
MARRIED:     EVA NELL LANE IN 1940, JOANN ELAINE MURRAY IN 1959, AND MILDRED BEAL.
 
OCCUPATION:    CHOCK HAD A RODEO CAREER AS BRONC RIDER AND CLOWN, LATER HE WORKED INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION IRONWORK ON PROJECTS ALL AROUND THE COUNTRY AS WELL AS GREENLAND.
 
CHURCH AFFILIATION:    MEMBER OF FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN ATOKA.
 
CHOCK WAS HIS BROTHER'S KEEPER, SHOWING IT BY HIS CARE AND CONSIDERATION FOR ALL THE LORD BROUGHT ACROSS HIS PATH.  HE received MANY AWARDS FOR HIS SERVICE. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE RODEO COWBOYS ASSOCIATION. HE WAS AWARDED THE SOUTHWESTERN BAREBACK CHAMPIONSHIP IN 1954 AND THE COLORADO STATE BAREBACK CHAMPIONSHIP IN 1956.  HE WAS PROUD TO SHARE COMPETITION AND FRIENDSHIPS WITH SUCH GREATS AS JIM SHOULDERS, JOHN McENTIRE, FRECKLES BROWN, AND BUCK LaGRANGE. IN 1962 HE WAS SELECTED BUSINESS AGENT FOR HIS LOCAL UNION IN DENVER, COLORADO. AFTER MANY YEARS AWAY FROM ATOKA COUNTY, CHOCK RETURNED IN THE 1970's, HE VOLUNTEERED FOR DHS AND FOR ELDER CARE AND BECAME AN OMBUDSMAN VOLUNTEER FOR SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA DEVELOPMENT AGENCY.

                               BONNIE LEA EASTLAND AND HUSBAND MATT OF OKLAHOMA CITY.
 
SISTERS:     ELLA JOY GOLDEN OF CANEY, OK.
                       WILMA McDOUGAL OF NEW YORK.
 
GRANDSONS:     BRYAN MICHAEL McDOUGAL OF KOREA.
                               SHAWN PATRICK McDOUGAL OF PHOENIX, AZ.
                               CHRISTOPHER ALLAN McDOUGAL OF FORT COLLINS, CO.
