Nelda Louise Holstine, age 64, a Stringtown, OK resident for over 40 years was raised in the Moyers and Antlers area. She was born on Sunday, February 12, 1961, to Billy James and Beulah Bell (Sharpe) Sanders, at Antlers, OK. Nelda passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Hugo, OK. She attended Moyers School, graduated Antlers High School in 1979 and then went on to SOSU in Durant where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in 1995.
Nelda was a business owner, owned and operated a beauty salon, bred and raised dogs, worked with the DOC at Mack Alford, and cooked in several area restaurants. Her special job was teaching. She loved her special ed kids in Atoka. She married Blair Holstine on Thursday, February 22nd, 1979 at Kosoma, OK. They enjoyed over 16 years of marriage before his passing on August 8, 1995. Nelda was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, and loved watching her grandchildren.
Nelda is survived by her mother, Beulah Bell (Sharpe) Sanders of Hugo, OK; daughters, Kara Slay of Cumby, TX, Tara Moore of Arapaho, OK; grandchildren, Tanner Hyatt of Atoka, Ok, Kodi Hyatt of Mt. Vernon, TX, Braxton Jones of Arapaho, OK, Brylee Jones of Clinton, OK, Braylon Slay of Cumby, TX, Kaci Slay of Cumby, TX; great grandchildren, Bella Sears, Tucker Sears, Jaxson Sears; siblings, Charles Sanders Sr. and wife Connie of Antlers, OK, Donnie Sanders of Spear, OK, Ronnie Sanders of Paris, TX; in laws, Blaine and Leslie Holstine of Stringtown, OK, Anita Holstine of Stringtown, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Nelda was preceded in death by her father, Billy James Sanders; husband, Blair Holstine; brother, Billy John Sanders.
