Martha Mae (Trent) Rowton was born August 22, 1937 in Atoka County, OK, the daughter of Roy Trent and Edith (Wilson) Trent. She departed this life on August 29, 2015 at the age of 78 years and 7 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Daniel
Rowton and brother, Troy Grant Trent.
Martha grew up in the city of Atoka, where she attended elementary and High
School. After marriage she spent her early years in Tushka, OK with her young
family. Serious illness required her to spend 25 years in several nursing homes
in Caddo, OK, Calera, OK and Durant, OK. She received loving care during these
many years.
Survivors include sons, Roy Rowton, Terry Rowton, and David Rowton of Tushka,
OK, one daughter Vicki Elliott and husband James, a granddaughter Jaime Elliott,
two grandsons Dusty and Shelby Rowton, two sisters, Ila Sue (Trent) Barnica of
Meadow, SD and Lena (Trent) Clancy, nieces, nephews, and many past classmates
and friends.
Graveside services are at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Green Meadow
Cemetery in Atoka. Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service
Durant.
