Clark Vincent McEntire, age 86, a lifelong Atoka County resident.
He
was born on Wednesday, November 30, 1927, to John and Alice Kate (Hayhurst)
McEntire, at Graham, OK.
Clark passed away on Thursday, October
23, 2014 at Coalgate, OK. AGE: 86 years, 10 months and 23 days.
He attended Limestone Gap School. OCCUPATION: Clark was a Professional
Cowboy and lifelong Rancher. He married Jacqueline "Jackie" Smith
on March 17, 1950 in Atoka, OK. They were married for 64 years and 7 months.
Clark was baptized at Stringtown Baptist Church and was a member of Professional Rodeo Cowboy
Association and held card #816. He was World Champion Steer Roper in 1957,
1958, and 1961. At the age of 19, he won the All-Around title at The
Pendleton Round-Up in Pendleton, OR. He still holds the record of being the
youngest contestant to ever win the All-Around for that rodeo. He was also a
member of Texas & Southwest Cattle Raisers Association since 1969.

Jacqueline "Jackie" (Smith) McEntire, age 93, a
Stringtown, OK resident.
She was born on Saturday, November 6, 1926, to
George Elvin and Reba Estelle (Brasfield) Smith, at
Reynolds, OK.
Jackie passed away on Saturday, March 14,
2020 at her home in Stringtown, OK.
at 93 years, 4 months and 8 days.
She attended Limestone Gap where she
graduated in 1943 at the age of 16. She went on to
attend Southeastern Oklahoma State College in Durant,
OK. She received her honoray degree at age 89.
Jackie was a school teacher, a school
secretary where she retired in 1973 and a ranch helper.
She married Clark McEntire on Friday, March
17th, 1950 at Atoka, OK. He preceded her in death on
October 23, 2014.
Jackie was a longtime member of Stringtown Baptist
Church, was on the board of directors for the Stringtown
Public School Foundation, and a member of H.AN.D.S.
(Helping A Needy Diva Survive) a rodeo organization. She
enjoyed fishing, reading her treasured books and loved
spending time with her family.
