Mildred Lea Sharp Hernandez

Mildred Lea Hernandez, age 108, a longtime Atoka and Coalgate, OK resident. She was born on Saturday, July 22, 1916, to William Homer and Nora Elverda (Brewer) Sharp, at Lane, OK. Mildred passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Coalgate, OK. She attended Atoka County Schools. Mildred was an electronics assembler. She made control panels for bombs at Locke Martin. She married Jesus Toboda Hernandez on August 11, 1954 in Monterey, CA. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage before his passing on June 25, 2012. Mildred enjoyed gardening, reading, and cooking. She was a good cook.

Mildred is survived by her granddaughters, Michele Goracke and husband Randall of Bells, TX, Laura Dodd of California; 2 great grandsons; 5 great great grandchildren; one great great great grandson; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Mildred was prededed in death by her parents, William Homer and Nora Elverda (Brewer) Sharp; husband, Jesus Toboda Hernandez; daughter, Gretta Dodd; grandson, Byron Dodd; great grandson, Johnathan Cerra; siblings, Jewel Morgan, Mark Benton Sharp, Robert Sharp.
