Eddy Dwaine Cooke, age 79, a longtime Atoka, OK resident born on Thursday, June 25, 1936, to William and Tommye Louise (Mills) Cooke, at Ft. Worth, TX. Eddy passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Atoka, OK. He graduated from Atoka High School and attended Oklahoma State University. Eddy was a electrical engineer, teacher. Eddy was 1st pastor of Crystal Baptist Church in 1966., he was also the pastor to Olmey Baptist Church, Wilson Baptist Church and Lehigh Baptist Church. He was a Senior Technician for the Texas Instruments and retired as a Vocational Instructor at Kiamichi Area Vo-tech, and work for the City of Atoka as the Director of Emergency Management. He married Jo Dean Wilson on February 15, 1954 in Durant, OK. Eddy attended and surrender to the ministry at Southside Baptist Church, He was member of the Lion Club, a writer, a big OU fan and an amateur radio operator, his call sign was WB5VUE. Eddy also enjoyed wood working, mason work, traveling, camping and fishing. He also owned TV repair shop and radio shack..

    
Eddy is survived by his wife ,Jo Dean Cooke of the home in Atoka, OK.; son, Eddy Dwaine Cooke Jr. of Atoka, OK.; daughter, Tamara Lou Allen and husband Jarod of Yukon, OK.; grandchildren, Brian Lee Ridgway and wife Crystal Dawn of Harmony, OK., Rebecca Jade Abke and husband Aaron of Oklahoma City, OK., Jonathan Drew Allen of Yukon, OK.; great grandchildren, Josiah Legend Ridgway of Harmony, OK: Michelle Brianne Ridgway of Atoka, OK, Lucas Isaiah Ridgway of Harmony, OK., Rebecca Nicole Ridgway of Harmony, OK., Dalton Quaid Ridgway, of Harmony, OK.; brothers, David Lynn Cooke and wife Darlene of Tulsa, OK. Timothy William Cooke and wife Beverly of Corsicana, TX.; sister-in-law, Betty Cooke of Bixby, OK.; brother-in -law, Ray Wingfield of Edmond, OK; brother & sister-in-law, Ima Jean Breeden and husband Bob of Atoka, OK. Along with a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

     Eddy is preceded in death by daughter, Rebecca Ann Houser; parents, William and Tommye Louise Cooke;sisters, Patsy Ann Boag and Billye Wingfield; brothers, Tommy Cooke and Larry Cooke.
