Tommie Jean Bettis, age 97, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 24, 2024.

She was born to Thomas and Agnes Fuson on July 18, 1927 in Tishomingo. She graduated from Atoka High School. On October 1, 1948, she married her high school sweetheart Harvey Bettis in Sherman, Texas. She was a homemaker and worked and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone. She was a member of The Church of Christ. Tommie enjoyed gardening and painting works of art. She belonged to the Yellow Iris and the Red Rose Gardening clubs.

Tommie is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Agnes Fuson, her husband Harvey Bettis, five sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by her son Stephen Bettis of Durant, her brother Ed Fuson and wife Reta of Tishomingo her sisters Athena Rath of Norman and Sue Allen and husband Ed of Stonewall, Oklahoma, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services are set for Monday, December 2nd, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Green Meadows Cemetery in Atoka, Oklahoma. Pastor Dan England will officiate. Services are directed by Brown’s Funeral Service of Durant.
