Beatrice Butler

Beatrice Butler was born on November 6, 1966, in Coalgate, Oklahoma, to Neree Beatrice Butler and Teddy Roosevelt Butler Jr. She attended Atoka Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1985. Throughout her school years, she enjoyed participating in athletics, including basketball and softball. After high school, she attended Grayson County College in Denison, Texas, where she pursued cosmetology. Although she was only one class away from completing the program, her talent for hairstyling remained evident throughout her life, as she often created beautiful and stylish hairdos for family and friends.

Growing up, Beatrice attended Fourth Ward Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir. Years later, she made the decision to visit Freedom Worship, Although she was unable to attend in person following her accident, she remained connected through their online services and hospital visits.

Beatrice found joy in serving others and spent much of her life working in caregiving roles, including as a childcare teacher and nursing aide. She had a vibrant personality that was reflected in her love for bright colors. Whether it was yellow, pink, orange, or gold, she wore them proudly, often paired with her favorite stretchy pants. She was also known for her generous spirit and her unforgettable gift-giving. Her presents were often unique and unexpected, but they always reflected the thought and care she put into each one.

Family and friends knew that karaoke was one of Beatrice's favorite pastimes. She never passed up an opportunity to sing, especially when "I'm Going Down " by Mary J. Blige came on. She also loved thrift stores and yard sales, always searching for hidden treasures and bargains. One thing was certain, you could not keep her away from either.

Beatrice treasured peaceful evenings by the lake and had recently begun taking evening walks with her family as part of her journey toward better health. She was a woman of faith who prayed often, kept her Bible close by on her dashboard, and regularly reached out to loved ones through calls, texts, and voicemails filled with encouragement, prayer, and familiar reminders. Those heartfelt messages will be deeply missed.

Beatrice was the proud mother of three children: Latoya, Chyrale, and Champale. Her children were the center of her world, and the love they shared was undeniable. She later united with Ravern Lowery Jr., and together they shared more than twenty years of love and companionship until his passing in 2024.

On June 12, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Beatrice entered eternal rest after complications stemming from a severe automobile accident in November 2025. As she continued to grieve the loss of loved ones who had gone before her, recovery became increasingly difficult. She grew weary and struggled with the loss of her independence, ultimately finding peace and rest in the arms of her Savior.

Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Champale Butler of Del City, Oklahoma; her sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Lewis McGee of Atoka, Oklahoma; her grandsons, Chy'derrian Washington of Atoka, Oklahoma, and Te'Zean "B'ntrei" Bates of Del City, Oklahoma; her granddaughters, Alayziah Washington of Atoka, Oklahoma, and Saray-al and Jasmond Butler of Del City, Oklahoma; her nieces and nephews, Ashaunte Greer and husband Andre Greer Sr. of Mead, Oklahoma, Alayna Garza and husband Brian Garza of Norman, Oklahoma, Johnny Colbert of Atoka, Oklahoma, and Cherry and Tanya Colbert of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Lisa Colbert of Frnison, TX; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Andre Greer Jr. of Mead, Oklahoma, Jax Garza of Norman, Oklahoma, and Zahri Garza of Norman, Oklahoma; a few 1st cousins including Alesha Lily and Thelma Bowen of Oklahoma City and Gail Bowen of Atoka, Oklahoma, Natasha Burton of California, Donna Burton of Washington, and Bobby Burton Jr. of Arizona; uncles, Claude Burton and Bobby Burton Sr. of California, Robert Pierce of California; a special mother figure, Rose Alexander-Russell of Forney, Texas; a few of her cherished friends Kelly Sturgis of Lane, Oklahoma, and Valerie Dollar of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; along with many beloved relatives across the country and a host of other friends whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ravern Lowery Jr.; her daughters, Latoya Butler and Chyrale Butler; her parents, Neree Butler and Teddy Roosevelt Butler Jr.; her maternal grandparents, Nancy and Henry Pierce; her paternal grandparents, Marie Brown and Roosevelt Butler Sr.; special mother figure, Rita Davenport; special grandmother figure, Mary Anne McGee; uncles, Mack & Tommie Burton, Henry "Uncle Brother" Pierce Jr., Freddie Lewis Pierce; aunts, Christine Mosely, Bettye Johnson, Orean Bowen, and dear friends Mattie B. Nichols, Patricia Rice, Lois Nichols, Janice "KK" Walker, Barbara Jackson, Ana Hopson, and many others.

Though her earthly journey has ended, the love, laughter, faith, and memories she shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
