Dewey Claud Wingfield a resident of Caddo, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Friday, February 8, 2013, at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 22 days surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Smith-Lee, Oklahoma, on Monday, October 17, 1932, to Edmond and Kathleen (Goad) Wingfield. Dewey married Alyene Davis in Durant, Oklahoma, on Saturday, March 17, 1951.

Dewey, the oldest of fourteen children, attended public schools in Bryan County. He was skilled in many areas but mainly as an electronic technician where he owned businesses in both Bryan County and Grayson County. Some of his many accomplishments included setting up the first television ever sold in Bryan County. Also, Dewey designed and installed the first television cable system in Calera and Colbert. He attended Hammond Organ School in Chicago, Illinois, to be an authorized organ technician. At that time, Dewey was the only certified organ technician between Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Dallas, Texas. In his later years, he enjoyed selling cars for his son-in-law and grandsons. Dewey sold his last car ten days before he was forced into retirement when the Lord called him home. Dewey was a member of the Blue River Fellowship Church of Caddo, Oklahoma.

Family and friends will also remember him as a man with a positive attitude and always willing to help others.

Dewey Wingfield is survived by his wife, Alyene, of the home; daughter and son-in-law Regina and Mike Brewer of Durant, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law Glenn and Karen Wingfield of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law Claudia and Dale Hunter,Sr. of Lake Kiowa, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Keenan and Tamela Wingfield of Caddo, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law Janice and Joel Stegal of Calera, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Shelly Fields and husband Tony of Mead, Oklahoma, Jason Brewer and wife Heather of Caddo, Oklahoma, Derek Brewer and wife Whitney of Durant, Oklahoma, Bradley Wingfield and girlfriend Heather of McKinney, Texas, Shannon Lewis and husband Derreck of Little Elm, Texas, Alicia Riggenbach and husband Steve of Keller, Texas, Leslie Whitley and husband James of Denison, Texas, Dale Hunter, Jr. of Anna, Texas, Brandon Wingfield and wife Marla of Durant, Oklahoma, Dusty Wingfield and wife Hanna of Russellville, Arkansas, Natalie Ford and husband John of Poteau, Oklahoma, Caitlin Hall and husband Justin of Prosper, Texas; 14 great grandchildren; brother Harold Wingfield and wife Dean of Calera, Oklahoma; sister Yvonne Lacey and husband Gene of Denison, Texas; brother Frank Wingfield of Hendrix, Oklahoma; sister Nelda Robb and husband Carrol of Randolph, Texas; sister Melba Love and husband Lorne (Rastus) of Calera, Oklahoma; sister Francis Ballard and husband Robert (Butch) of Colbert, Oklahoma; sister Lou Marksberry and husband Carl of Achille, Oklahoma; sister Sue Bird of Phoenix, Arizona; brother Steve Wingfield and wife Lana of Achille, Oklahoma; sister Phyllis Hall and husband Gary of Colbert, Oklahoma; sister Joanne Canaday and husband Nathan of Calera, Oklahoma; brother Johnny Wingfield and wife Lavonda of Durant, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Wingfield was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Kathleen Wingfield and brother Sonny Wingfield.

A Funeral Service in his honor will be at 2:00 PM Monday, February 11,2013 at The First Church of The Nazarene in Caddo, Oklahoma with Pastor Mack Chambers officiating. Serving as pallbeaers will be his grandsons Jason Brewer, Bradley Wingfield, Brandon Wingfield, Dusty Wingfield, Dale Hunter Jr. and Derek Brewer.

Burial will be at Center Hill Cemetery.

Family hour was Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 3-4 P.M. at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home.
The family received friends at the Glenn Wingfield residence in Durant following the family hour on Sunday.
