Cecil Bennett Whitmire of Coleman, Oklahoma
was born on May 1, 1926 in Folsom, Oklahoma to Mike and Lottie (Hood) Whitmire
and passed away from this life on June 4, 2013 at the age 87 years 1 month and 3
days.
Cecil attended Lone Star Schools and married Cora Lucille Wooten in Durant,
Oklahoma on December 22, 1954. Cecil was a farmer and iron worker for most of
his life and loved the outdoors, going hunting and fishing.
Cecil is preceded in death by his wife Cora in 1969; parents Mike and Lottie
Whitmire; brother Joe Whitmire; and sister Fannie Johnson.
He is survived by his daughters Mary Whitmire of Coleman, Oklahoma; Linda
Russell of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Tina Ashlock and husband Doug of Coleman,
Oklahoma; son Justin Whitmire of Durant, Oklahoma; brothers Harold (Slim)
Whitmire of Coleman, Oklahoma, Loyd Whitmire and wife Betty of Caney, Oklahoma;
sisters Para Lee Gann of Dallas, Texas, Cleo Golden and Carol Ray of Krebbs,
Oklahoma, Ruby Wix of Durant, Oklahoma, Annie Bell Owens of Durant, Oklahoma;
grandchildren Brandon Ardrey of Coleman, Oklahoma, Bart Russell and wife
Jennifer of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Kelly Russell of Blue, Oklahoma, Robin Sullivan
of Coleman, Oklahoma, Jacob Harrington of Durant, Oklahoma, Amber Whitmire of
Durant, Oklahoma; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
