Arleeta Marie Whitmire was born October 25, 1937 in Folsom,
Oklahoma to Rome Lee and Thelma Effie (Hartwick) Nelson. Arleeta went home to be
with her Lord and Savior on August 12, 2013 at the age of 75 years 9 months and
17 days.
Arleeta and R.L. Whitmire were united in marriage on November 4, 1954 and spent many years together until his passing on December 18, 2011. Arleeta was a house wife and mother and she enjoyed music, sewing, quilting, fishing, camping, wood working, painting, yard work, and anything outdoors. She was a member of the Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church, and she will be greatly missed by many people that knew her.
Arleeta was preceded in death by her parents, Rome and Thelma; husband, R.L. Whitmire; son, William Lee Whitmire; daughter, Linda Dawn Whitmire; grandson, Ross Lee Whitmire.
Funeral Service will be Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church. Bro. Randy Tadlock and Bro. Mark White will be officiating with interment at Center Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service, Durant.
