Services to celebrate the life of Tommy Lorn Claborn, 75, of Durant, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at his home will be held Monday, June 8th, 10 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Rev. Jay Perry will officiate.
Tommy was born April 11, 1934, in Achille, Okla., to Will Ed and Pearl Lee (Ford) Claborn. He spent the majority of his life in and around Bryan County. He worked as a Shipping Agent for Mistletoe Express in Duran t for many years and later worked as a welder and heating and air conditioning repairman. He was an avid coon hunter, a rancher and he was a member of the Madill and Caddo Masonic Lodges. He was of the Baptist faith and he enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and hunting and fishing. Tommy will be greatly missed by all who knew and dearly loved him.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willie “Bill” Claborn, Jeff Claborn and Van Claborn; sister, Clarice Claborn; and granddaughter, Julie Hollowell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Angelia Kerr of Durant, Randy Claborn and wife Nancy of Durant and Tammy Fietkau and husband Ronald of Milledgeville, Georgia; sister, Minnie Lee Mote of Durant; brother, Eddie Claborn of Blue; grandchildren, Whitney Kerr, Tracy Day, Kevin Claborn, Danielle Fietkau, Erich Fietkau and Tristan Fietkau; great grandchildren, Hunter Day, Hayden Day and Skilar Claborn; and other relatives and a host of dear and loved friends.
Interment will be in Center Hill Cemetery with Masonic Rites with Gary Claborn, Joe Claborn, Michael Claborn, Kevin Claborn, Eddie Claborn and Robert Springer serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-5 p.m.
