Robert Woodrow Carter, 68, of Tuttle, died Friday, June 28, 2019, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The son of Donald L. Carter and Phyllis (Stokes) Carter, he was born April 15, 1951 in Bristow, Oklahoma.
Woody married Doris Dalene Reece on March 10, 1985. He worked as an assembler for General Motors and retired after many years of service. He was Assembly of God in faith and was a member of UAW Local 1999. After his retirement from GM, Woody worked for the City of Newcastle in Parks and Maintenance. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sudoku, and word puzzles. Woody enjoyed going to the lake and waterskiing. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 31 years, Doris Carter; and brother-in-law, Darrel Reece.
Woody is survived by one daughter, Tina Carter, of Newcastle; one son, Tommy Carter and his wife, Elizabeth, of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Taylor Carter, Haley Carter, Graceyn Carter; an adopted granddaughter, Michelle Mendez; nine sisters, Pam Swegman and her husband, George, of Maryland, Patty Carter of Maryland, Peggy Speicher and her husband, Chris, of Hawaii, June Moody and her husband, Chris, of Maryland, Janet Rusche and her husband, Robert, of Oklahoma City, Jennifer Burgy and her husband, Bill, of Maryland, Julie Styers and her husband, Mark, of Maryland, Jodie Schmidt and her husband, Daniel, of Maryland, and Robin Adams of Pennsylvania; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 8, 2019, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard.
Burial will follow at 2:30 PM, in the Butler Cemetery near Lane, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
