Doris married Robert Woodrow “Woody” Carter on March 10, 1985. She worked as a training coordinator for General Motors and retired after 17 years of service. She was Assembly of God in faith and was a member of UAW Local 1999. When she was younger, Doris enjoyed camping, fishing, waterskiing and tubing at the lake. She loved mowing the lawn, beacause that was her “zoning” time. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Darrel Reece.
She is survived by her husband, Woody Carter of Tuttle; one daughter, Tina Carter, of Newcastle; one son, Tommy Carter, of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Taylor Carter, Haley Carter, and Graceyn Carter; one brother, Jerry Wayne Reece of Tushka; one sister-in-law, Wetta Reece of Lane; three nephews, Steven Reece and wife, Connie, of Midwest City, Clay Reece and wife,Tiffany, of Texas, and Shannon Reece and wife, Jeana, of Lane; her “adopted family”, Jackie and Scott Benson, and their children, Phoebe, Zeke, and Aiden, all of Newcastle; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard.
Burial will be in the Butler Cemetery near Lane, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
