Paul Dean Pettett

Paul Dean Pettett, age 65, a longtime Lane, OK resident. He was born on Tuesday, May 3, 1960, to Ray and Billie Ann (Cathey) Pettett, at Dallas, TX. Paul passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at his home in Lane, OK. He graduated from Plano High School with the class of 1978. He went on to attend Murray State and received an Associates in Gunsmithing Tech. Paul was a professional, world class gunsmith and business owner. He was also a skilled machinist, worked in all phases of construction and served as an exceptional manager for the Choctaw Nation. He married Stephanie Irene (Rushing) on Sunday, June 3rd, 1984 at McKinney, TX. They celebrated over 40 years of marriage before his passing. Paul attended First Baptist Church of Atoka. He enjoyed, hunting, playing pool, making his custom knives, playing dominoes, playing golf, dancing, enjoyed all games, was a great tactician and loved being with his family.

Paul is survived by his wife, Stephanie Irene Pettett of the home in Lane, OK; sons, Sky Paul Pettett and wife Kaytee of Oklahoma City, OK, Wren Pettett and wife Stormee of Lane, OK; sister, Debbie Dittmar and husband John of Johnson City, TX; brother, Michael Pettett and wife Carrie of Wylie, TX; mother in law, Reba Snow and husband Andy of Belton, TX; father in law, Joe Rushing and wife Jackie of Sherman, TX; aunt, Madge McKay of Wichita Falls, TX; uncle, Marshall Cathey of Wichita Falls, TX; grandchildren, Indiana Kate Pettett, Lincoln Sky Pettett, Night Wryze Pettett, Darken Skies Pettett; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Billie Ann (Cathey) Pettett; daughter, Cheyla Ruth Pettett; brother, David Pettett; maternal grandparents, Flora and Bill Cathey; paternal grandparents, Walter and May Pettett.
