Boyd Junior McGuire

Boyd Junior McGuire, age 80, a lifelong Wapanucka, OK resident. He was born on Sunday, March 25, 1945, to Robert Boyd and Nona Delilah (McCurdy) McGuire, at Wapanucka, OK. Boyd passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at his home in Wapanucka, OK surrounded by his loved ones. He graduated from Wapanucka High School with the class of 1963. Boyd then went on to attend Mechanic Trade School. Boyd married Lynda Joy (Hatter) on November 16, 1983 in Atoka, OK. They celebrated over 42 years together before his passing. He spent his working years as a dedicated truck driver, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and love for the open road. He worked for Allen Lumber Company for many years. In his free time, he found his greatest joy outdoors-fishing and hunting with his nieces and nephews, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and cherished every moment with them. Above all else, he treasured time spent with his beloved wife, whose companionship meant everything to him.

Boyd is survived by his wife, Lynda McGuire of Wapanucka, OK; daughters, LaRhonda & Eric Loftis of Bokchito OK, Elisa & Ronnie Gaither of Baxter, TN and Sharon & Joe Pope of Achille OK; grandchildren, Sasha Barfield and husband Jay, Raymond Gaither and wife Tara, Danielle Pruitt and husband Darren, Brandi Nelson and husband Brad, Alisa Bruegger and husband Jeremy, Preston Gaither; 13great-grandchildren2 great great grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Boyd was preceded in death by his mother & father Nona McGuire & Boyd McGuire of Wapanucka OK; brothers, Robert McGuire of Dallas, TX, Kenneth McGuire of Durant OK, Jack East Of Wapanucka, OK; sisters Wenona Sue Cooper of Ardmore, OK, Charlene Lykins of Springfield, MO; 2 sons, Stephens Simonds & Brick Dashner of Wapanucka, OK; grandson, James Sparks of Durant OK.
