Lonnie Loyd Austin, 77, of Boswell, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on June 1, 2026.
Lonnie was born on May 14, 1949, in Bentley, Oklahoma, to Charles Lee Austin and Dorothy Jane (Pack) Lester. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a dedicated veteran who carried his love for his country throughout his life.
Lonnie attended school in Oklahoma City and later received his welding certification. He spent many years working as a certified welder for Barrett Trailers in Oklahoma City, and welded for several places over the years.
In his spare time, Lonnie enjoyed hunting, watching game fowl, working on and showing his cars in parades and cruises, and tinkering with old cars. He loved his Hot Rods!
Lonnie is survived by his daughter, Fonda Lewis of Oklahoma; son, Charles Austin of Boswell, Oklahoma; grandsons Logan Lewis, Caden Lewis, and Kris Lewis; grandson, Lonnie Lopez; nieces, Crystal Long, Jolene, Ronal F. Tubbs, Christy Dollins, Shannon McKinney, and Tera Parks; nephews, Justin Austin, Clinton Austin, Ronald Austin, and Dewayne Merrell; along with many other beloved family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Lee Austin and Dorothy Jane Lester; his sisters, Loudena Davis and Ladonna Austin; and his brother, Clint Austin.
