Roberta Faye Settlemire Mayo

Roberta Faye (Settlemire) Mayo, age 73, a Whitesboro, TX resident, formerly of Atoka, OK. She was born on Monday, May 12, 1952, to Lewis Raymond and Clara Belle (Williams) Settlemire, at Blackjack, OK. Roberta passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 in Dallas, TX. She attended Harmony Grade School, and graduated from Atoka High School. Roberta later went on to attend nursing school in Grayson County College. Roberta was an EMT, nurse at the Grayson County Jail, and worked in home health care. Taking care of people was her passion. She married Wayne Loyd Mayo on Tuesday, December 23rd, 1969 at Harmony Baptist Church. They enjoyed over 55 years of marriage. Roberta was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed crocheting, needle work, traveling and seeing things, coming up to Bentley to spend time and loved taking care of people throughout her life and would always go out of her way to help anybody.

Roberta is survived by her husband, Wayne Loyd Mayo of the home in Whitesboro, TX; daughter, Stacy Mayo of the home in Whitesboro, TX; son, Loyd Mayo of the home in Whitesboro, TX; sisters, Joyce Mayo of Mustang, OK, Charlotte Boley of Caney, OK; special friends, Nell Webb, Ogene Bridges; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Clara Belle (Williams) Settlemire; son, Keith Mayo; granddaughter, Cheyenne Mayo; sisters, Merline Blankenship, Ethel Jean Davis; niece, Shirley Ann Blankenship; stepmother, Joann Settlemire.
