Noble Sweatt

Enid, OK — The funeral for Noble Sweatt, 94, of Helena, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at First Christian Church, Helena. Pastor Jay Drawbridge will officiate. Burial will be in Timberlake Cemetery, northeast of Helena. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
He was born Jan. 23, 1914, to E.M. “Newt” and Maude Burnside Sweatt and died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Great Plains Care Center, Helena.
Following high school he attended Northwestern A&M College and then served in the Army.
He married Peggy Jo Snider March 25, 1949, in Ponca City. He was a member of First Christian Church of Helena, where he served as deacon. He also served on the elevator board in Helena and Helena school board.
Surviving are two sons, Gene Sweatt of Plano, Texas, and Charles Sweatt of Helena; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, and one brother, George.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Christian Church Building Fund.
