Enid, OK — The graveside service for Ivan R. Metcalf, 87, will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2009, in Timberlake Cemetery, near Helena. The Rev. William S. Kalfas will officiate. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Alva.
He was born July 17, 1921, near Helena, to Emery L. and Jessie Lemon Metcalf and died Thursday, March 12, 2009, in Alva.
He was a graduate of Jet High School.
He married Beryl Florine Blackledge July 28, 1943, in Coffeyville, Kan. He entered the Army where he served as Technician 4th Grade in the 46th Chemical Laboratory Co. Following his discharge, they made their home near Jet where he farmed and ranched. He was a member of First Christian Church, Jet and Cherokee.
Surviving are two sons, Verne Metcalf of Alva, and Kent Metcalf of Perry; two brothers, Donald Metcalf and E.L. Metcalf, both of Jet; one sister, Jessie Mary Reinhart of Jet; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beryl, a set of stillborn twins and two brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Beadles Nursing Home activity fund.
